Airport craziness! Toronto!

If you ever take the RER to the CDG airport to catch a flight, make sure you allow yourself plenty of time. We left 3 hours before our flight and almost missed it!

First, we got on the RER B line towards CDG but they told us that everyone had to get off at the next station, Gare du Nord. There, we found out that there were no trains going to CDG that morning because of an electricity problem but that we could catch a different train to another station from which we could take a bus. By the time we had this all figured out and knew where to go, we had only 2 hours until our flight. We got on the train and as we were waiting for the doors to close, a lady we had been talking to (and who had been translating the announcements for us) told us that another train would be coming on another platform that would go straight to the airport. We hurried off the train and then proceeded to wait another 15 minutes before we could get on the next train and then another several minutes before the train actually left the station. We were stressing out at this point along with the many other people around us with suitcases in hand.

We finally arrived at the airport only to find it was complete chaos. With spring break, the holiday weekend, and a very disorganized system, it took us some time to make our way to a ticket counter where we could check in. By the time we got into the long security line, we only had 5 minutes until the time our gate was scheduled to close. Quinn was scrambling around and asking if we could pass to the front of the line, but they were all telling us that the plane would wait for us. After we met several other people in line that were on our same flight, we relaxed a bit. We finally made it to the gate, and they accepted our boarding passes. We thought we were good to go but then saw that there was a bus waiting for us. We waited another 20 minutes or so on the bus as more passengers boarded. We all made the flight, which took off 1 hour delayed because it waited for all of the passengers... whew!!!

After 15 hours, we made it to Toronto and got to hang out with the fam, and we got to meet the two most recent additions to the clan, Aidan and Tristan! Aren't they adorable?! :-)
