We had a nice, long lunch at Sage on Rue de Buci. Rue de Buci is such a cute, lively street. We were just there a couple of days ago but I couldn't wait to go back. I had a salad with potatoes, gizzards, foie gras, duck fillet, carrots, and tomatoes. It hardly felt like a salad!
After lunch, we took a walk in the Luxembourg Gardens. The gardens there are my fav in all of Paris. The flowers are absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to go back with Quinn's 105mm lens and go picture-taking.
We were looking for a café where we could relax for a bit. It was just our luck - one of Dalloyau's tea rooms was just around the corner. We went upstairs and were seated by the window where we had a view of a fountain and the Luxembourg Gardens. We lingered for awhile over chocolat chaud (yum!), café, and pain au chocolat... I reviewed some of my notes from school and did some planning while Quinn busted out his laptop to work on some of his pictures. It wasn't until after I got home that I read that Dalloyau was the original creator of the Opéra cake. We're definitely going to have to go back! Opéra cake reminds me of when I was younger and my mom and I would get Opéra cake from Major Market. It has multiple layers of biscuit soaked in coffee syrup, coffee butter cream and chocolate ganache - one of my favs!
