As we were walking down Rue Vieille du Temple in the 4th arondissement, we walked by yet another chocolatier, Cacao et Chocolat. This one seemed a little different than the others, and they served chocolat chaud! We had to stop in for a cup. It was like liquid chocolate... not too rich, not too sweet... and beyond delicious.
The best hot chocolate... ever!!!
Falafel!! We headed to the Jewish quarter to take part in the age-old debate of who has the best falafel in Paris. On Rue des Rosiers, L'As du Falafel and Mi-Va-Mi battle it out for all those walking by. Mi-Va-Mi's falafel won hands down; it was so moist and tasty, and the cabbage gave it an extra little something. L'As du Falafel's was more of a traditional falafel but still left Quinn fully content (check out the big grin in the picture below).
I love walking in Paris, and the food here is some of the best I've ever had. Here's a pic of the Seine River on the stroll home.
Our daily dose of pain au chocolat was from our neighborhood patisserie, Stohrer. It's known for being the oldest patisserie in Paris having been founded in 1730 by the former pastry chef of Louis XV. I hear that you're not supposed to have croissants in Paris after 11am... this may have been a case of exactly that. Our pain au chocolat was rather dry and a bit stale. I'll have to give this one another try on an early morning.
After dinner, we went for a late night stroll and for some gelato at Pozzetto. Good stuff... but not nearly as good as the gelato I remember from when I spent a summer in Italy. We had 3 guilty pleasures of chocolate today (I'm such a chocoholic)! Thank goodness for all that walking... We've logged 20+ miles on my pedometer over the last 3 days!
your food description is making me hungry to go to paris :D
